Holders decide
what happens to a launch.

A community takeover moves a launch from a creator who went silent to its holders. Every vote is a private ballot, and its result reaches the launch's contracts in steps any holder can take.

[ Votes ]

Open and recent votes

Each launch runs one ballot at a time, open for 72 hours. Its tally is public; who voted which way is not.

No launch takes votes yet.

A launch gets a takeover vote after it graduates, once its governance contract is deployed. Its ballots appear here as they open.

Opening a vote, and what it asks of you

Any holder with a voting identity on a launch may open a vote on it. The platform does not run votes or pay for any of their steps: the person who opens one carries it, from their own wallets, and any holder can take a step it stalls on.

How a vote runs

  1. 01

    File the proposal

Choose the launch, the vote and its description, and post the bond in NIGHT from your Midnight wallet. The description is stored on this site and the proposal commits to its hash, so it cannot change once filed.

  2. 02

    The 72-hour ballot

Holders in the launch’s balance snapshot vote yes or no in a private ballot. A vote weighs the voter’s snapshot balance, capped at 1% of supply, and counts only tokens held for 30 days before the ballot opened.

  3. 03

    Close the ballot

After 72 hours anyone can close it. It passes when at least 5% of supply voted, at least 15 holders took part, and yes outweighs no. A passed vote is then carried out on Midnight.

  4. 04

    Record the result on Cardano

The result goes on the launch’s Cardano record with a 25 ADA bond from the wallet that records it. For 24 hours a result that does not match its ballot can be voided, and a voided result’s bond does not come back.

  5. 05

    Execute it, then apply it

Once the 24 hours pass, the result is executed and then applied to each of the launch’s contracts, one transaction each. A takeover freezes the creator’s vesting first, then sends the curve’s creator fees and the pool royalty to the community wallet.

  6. 06

    Settle

The 25 ADA bond goes back to the wallet that posted it, the NIGHT bond goes back to the proposer if the ballot drew a quorum, and the record is cleared for the next vote.

What opening a vote asks of you

The bond

A NIGHT bond, at least the launch’s floor. It comes back once the ballot draws a quorum, whichever way the vote goes. A ballot that draws no quorum loses its bond to the platform.

The fees

Every step is a transaction you sign and pay for: filing and closing from your Midnight wallet, recording, executing and applying from your Cardano wallet. The platform takes none of these steps and pays for none of them.

The description

Say plainly what the vote does and why. It is what holders read before they vote, and it cannot be edited once the proposal is filed.

The community wallet

A takeover names the wallet the launch passes to, by its public key. The creator’s fees and the pool royalty go there from then on, so name a wallet the holders trust and keep it safe.

Seeing it through

When the ballot closes, the steps above are yours to take. Recording the result posts the 25 ADA bond, which comes back when the result settles. Any holder can take a stalled step, but a vote starts with you.

The launch’s one ballot

A launch runs one ballot at a time, and the next can open only 90 days after one ends, passed or failed. Filing a vote spends that slot for every holder.

When a vote can be filed

  • At least 90 days after the launch graduated.
  • At least 90 days after the launch’s last ballot ended, and with no ballot open.
  • While the launch’s balance snapshot is at most 30 days old. If snapshots stop for 90 days, a takeover can still be filed on the last one.
  • A takeover, only once the creator has been silent for 90 days and has creator fees left unclaimed for the community to recover.
  • Every other vote, only on a launch its community has taken over.

What a takeover changes

  • The creator’s unclaimed curve fees and the pool royalty go to the community wallet.
  • The community wallet takes the creator’s place over the liquidity. After the 1-year lock it may move it once, to Minswap or WingRiders, with 72 hours’ public notice. A takeover does not shorten the lock, and the pool royalty ends if the liquidity moves.
  • The creator’s allocation still in vesting is frozen, not burned. No sooner than 90 days later, a second vote sends all of it to one place: paired into the pool, into staking, or kept for the community. That decision is final.
  • Fees the creator already claimed and tokens already vested stay theirs.
  • If the creator comes back, holders can vote to dissolve the takeover. An allocation a second vote already placed stays where it went.
